UIA2011 TOKYO Theme Sessions!!
The UIA2011 TOKYO Japan Organizing Board (JOB) has announced that the Theme Sessions as the official programme will be held during UIA2011 TOKYO. These sessions include: Theme Session 1 How to regenerate the hope of living after disasters (11:30 - 13:30 September 26 (Monday), Theme Session 2 CITY after 2011 (16:45 - 18:45 September 26 (Monday), Theme Session 3 Possibility and responsibility of an environmental design (9:00 - 11:00 September 27 (Tuesday), Theme Session 4 Resilience in Architectural Technologies (11:30 - 13:30 September 27 (Tuesday) and Theme Session 5 The image of architect and new professional roles in the age of social networking (15:00 - 17:00 September 27 (Tuesday).

UIA2011 TOKYO open! architecture 2011 Second session will be held from September 24th!
The UIA2011 TOKYO Japan Organizing Board (JOB) has announced that registration for the open! architecture has started since September 3rd. The Japanese version of European Heritage Days, open! architecture was held four times this year, with the second session being held from September 24 through October 9, 2011.

UIA2011 TOKYO Tokyo City Tour - Tokyo Metropolitan Government's special offer for UIA2011 our overseas guests - The UIA2011 TOKYO Japan Organizing Board (JOB) has announced that a free bus tour of the most popular sightseeing areas in Tokyo is being sponsored by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government. The bus will visit such areas as Central Tokyo, Asakusa, the Sumida River and Hama-rikyu Garden. The bus tour will operate twice daily during the Congress from September 26-29. You may sign up for the bus tour at the "TOKYO CITY TOUR" desk at Tokyo International Forum.

UIA2011 TOKYO Narita Airport WELCOME DESK open from 8:00 - 20:00 on September 24-25 The UIA2011 TOKYO Japan Organizing Board (JOB) has announced there will be WELCOME DESK open from 8:00 - 20:00 on September 24-25 at Narita Airport. If you require assistance upon your arrival at Narita Airport, our Tokyo Hospitality Team will be standing by to help you find your way to the event venue and/or your hotel. There will be WELCOME DESKS located at both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 at Narita Airport. Upon exiting from the Customs Hall, look for the "UIA2011 TOKYO" welcome sign at the Meeting Service Counter.

UIA2011 TOKYO 10,000 World Architects Exhibition!
The UIA2011 TOKYO Japan Organizing Board (JOB) has announced that entries for the 10,000 World Architects Exhibition - one of the core events at UIA2011 TOKYO - are being accepted. The UIA2011 TOKYO: The 24th World Congress of Architecture will take place in Tokyo, Japan beginning on September 25, 2011.
To mark the significance of this event, the JOB is sponsoring the 10,000 World Architects Exhibition, too. Symbolizing UIA2011 TOKYO, this exhibition will convey messages from architects from around the world through the medium of one project image per architect. Japanese and international architects are invited to participate in the creation of this exhibition, which is open to all architects regardless of affiliation. The exhibition seeks to promote understanding of cultures in different countries through architecture, as well as to convey the architects' messages and their works across a broad spectrum of society.
