NEST 24 – CHRISTINE SAALFELD
Exhibition 05 july 2008 - 31 august 2008 | NEST is a one-person gallery measuring 15 square metres. Once every six weeks, a generally young artist, architect or designer presents a new exhibition of independent work. Starting on July 5, 2008, the artist Christine Saalfeld (1968) will be showing the installation 'Circulation Machine', a critical construction on technology and modernism.
ARCHIPHOENIX – FACULTIES FOR ARCHITECTURE – Netherlands Architecture Institute
The NAI represents the Netherlands at the 11th International Architecture Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia with the exhibition ‘ArchiPhoenix – Faculties for architecture’. ‘ArchiPhoenix – Faculties of architecture’ will open in the Netherlands Pavilion, Giardini di Castello, Venice (Italy) on Friday 12 September. The exhibition will be open to the public from Sunday 14 September to Sunday 23 November.
GALLERY 3: MY PUBLIC SPACE
Squares, city beaches, fields, parks, quays – in theory they are open to everybody, but their public character is under pressure. Public spaces are being privatised as a result of the decrease in state intervention, they are assigned a particular theme to encourage tourism, or they are under tight surveillance to improve security.
RIBA Stirling Prize Dinner 2008
The RIBA Stirling Prize in association with The Architects' Journal, now in its 13th year, will be announced at a dinner on Saturday 11 October 2008 at the recently opened BT Convention Centre, Liverpool. Kevin McCloud will present the Channel 4 programme broadcast the following evening.
