Christine Nickl-Weller: design and execution of healthcare, research, education and office buildings

Christine Nickl-Weller is dedicated to the design and execution of healthcare, research, education and office buildings, as well as urban developments. After graduating with a degree in architecture from the Technical University of Munich, Christine joined the Munich-based architecture team of Nickl & Partner in 1989 and became Chief Executive Officer of the corporation in 2008.

Since 2004, Christine has been chairing the Architecture for Health department at the Berlin University of Technology. The chair covers a broad field of research topics related to healthcare architecture and urbanism including healing architecture, energy-efficiency in healthcare buildings, healthy urban planning and housing for the elderly.

In 2006 Christine initiated the biennial Health Care of the Future symposia taking place in Berlin and the Healing Architecture conferences (Berlin, 2011; St. Petersburg 2013; Dubai, 2015) supported by the Federal Ministry of Health. She is author and editor of numerous articles and books, most recently Healing Architecture 2004-2017, Healing Architecture (2013, with Hans Nickl), Hospital Architecture (2013, editor with Hans Nickl) and the series Health Care of the Future, Vol. 1-6.

Christine is a dedicated lecturer in Germany and abroad and founder of the European Network Architecture for Health (ENAH).
