GREEN POINTS: As the nation’s first commercial green bank, New Resource Bank offers
special loan programs to green developers and finances residential and commercial solar
installations. It recently was selected as a preferred financial partner of Solar Santa
Monica, a solar campaign operated by the city of Santa Monica, Calif. Certified LEED
Gold for New Construction from the Washington, D.C.-based U.S. Green Building
Council, the building’s desks are manufactured from certified sustainable forest products
and rapidly renewable bamboo. Much of the office furniture was purchased used.
Cabinets are made from 100 percent pre-consumer recycled wood fiber, and the
fluorescent lighting is controlled by motion-sensor switches and daylight control.
