The Prize of Union of Moscow Architects (UMA) "Golden Section" is awarded for the best architectural projects and realizations, for publications, scientific-research and critical works on architecture of Moscow, as well as for special achievements in the architectural practice, pedagogics and theory. The Prize is awarded to the competitive works, selected by the Prize Committee.

The main Prize of 2007 was presented to the laureates at the Awarding Ceremony in the Central House of Architect on April 19th. 

In 2007 the “Golden Section” Competition was held in a new format using the latest multimedia technologies. With the help of the Internet Software System for Providing Architectural Events developed by specialists from the “Architektor” Information Agency, a virtual exhibition and CD-catalogue of the Competition were formed, then the on-line voting ("Vox Populi" competition) was taking place.

"In the course of time, the main Prize of the “Golden Section” Competition organized by the Union of Moscow Architects (UMA) – a bas-relief with a graphic image of “golden section” – has become a symbol of high professionalism and acknowledgement of the colleagues from the professional creative guild. An absolute independence of the Jury decision from any conjuncture or any influences is a particular feature of the "Golden Section". Owing to this, the Competition might be regarded as the most accurate reflection of the processes taking place in the Moscow architecture.
