Moscow architects have built interactive attractions in Nicola-Lenivets

This time Pancake week celebration took place in the small Kaluga village Nicola-Lenivets, forgotten in idyllic valley of the river Ugra. People from Moscow and Kaluga suburbs came to celebrate popular holiday together – on "ArchStoyaniye 2007. Winter" festival. This year the artel “Nicola-Lenivetskie promisly” and curators of the event invited the editors of the architectural edition “Project Russia”, groups “Iced Architects” and “Bureau Moscow” – architectural groups noted for their uncommon view, creative thinking and vanguard approach to the traditions.

Curator’s manifest called to the creation of architectural attraction so as to make winter more communicative and attractive. For a period of one-and-a-half months the organizers and architects searched for the possibilities to realize their ideas.
Project of “Bureau Moscow” “Communication on the Communications” - 64 meter pipe, well-packed by hay, hundred per-cent answer to the curator’s call, was an excellent place for communication and drinking heating beverages.

Special attention caused the project of “Iced architects” “Tele-port” - the large snowy cube, from which the penguins left and communicated with the amazed public.

Project “In the fire” of edition “Project Russia” solemnly lit up at six o’clock in the evening, after gathering around many people. So the living tradition of Shrove-tide combustion in 21 century can become the reason for creating objects of actual art.

In the world of contemporary art Nicola-Lenivets village is known as constantly updatable exposition or the museum in the open air. Landscape objects of famous masters of architecture harmonize with country scenery. They are still very impressive for guests and visitors. Nicola-Lenivets has not engaged any of the niches in modern art. So as it is multicultural space, where boundaries between landscape, architecture and modern art became invisible.
